In the past 5 years Jo has witnessed the manipulation of the vulnerability of adoptive parents.  Many prospective adoptive parents have spent money paying all different types of professionals, the issue being they were all the wrong professionals.  Not that they were bad professionals but professional that were out to make money on the vulnerability of a very heart wrenching situation. Many adoptive parents have gone through so much just to have a family.  In the last 5 to 8 years there has been an influx of persons wanting to “make money” at the cost of a very vulnerable group of persons, adoptive parents.  For some by the time they paid a facilitator, attorney and possibly an agency just to find out they were all the wrong people.  Prospective adoptive parents would spend money here there and everywhere but where they should be spending their money.  Once a selection by a birth parent happened so many adoptive parents would discover all the services they need to achieve their adoption was going to deplete some or all of their savings.  So you say… why pay a consultant?  Go questions and the answer is that it will be the best money you spend especially if you are just starting the adoption process.  So before you write a check to anyone find a very knowledgeable and trustworthy adoption consultant.
